Ode to the Festival International de Louisiane

"Ode to the Festival International de Louisiane"
(a three-media art work featuring a poem and a video with music in 20-edo, a system that bitterly distorts the intervals we all know and love)
[dedicated to Sarah]

festival 2008 is when you left me.

loved you more than anything, but you would rather just get high.

gave your soul, in fear, to the demon in a jesus-mask.

like me, your n.d.e. could have set you free.

but now you are not even a faceless one in the crowd.

you are now like the street preachers of festival.

ending every sentence with "in the name of lord jesus christ amen."

festival 2008 was the last time your name was sarah; i don't know who you are anymore.

in the name of lord jesus christ amen

nigh eighth annum fog old joyous sightseer anthem

  1. Your juxtaposition of ignorance and religion is fantastic. Unfortunately this is what people want. The video is terrifying, how people weave. This whole entry is very much in a different light from the previous one (negus rabbi...) yet shares something undefinable with it; a grand humor perhaps? Maybe this is the nightmarish side of conformity, humorous (or childish) and terrible, as opposed to pure and free chaos, which provides liberation.
